Digital Wall Calendars on The Dragon’s Den?

A friend of mine with whom I’ve discussed digital wall calendars in detail told me recently that someone had pitched this very concept on the television show “The Dragon’s Den”, where people on the show present to a panel of investors in the hopes of getting the funds to realize their dreams. Unfortunately, I missed it. Did anyone catch it, or know where to watch it now? I’d love to see what happened. My friend remembered the investors not thinking people would bother to fill out their schedules, but I find that’s a hard thing to believe in the long term. We don’t need to be the Jetsons to get to this point…

Update

Below is the unfortunate pitch. Heart in the right places, but without the necessary presentation support (patent, software, etc.)

I’ve been searching for a digital wall calendar for ages and cannot believe that nobody has one for sale. I’d have thought it would be a gadget we can’t live without in this day and age! Do you know of any, anywhere?

Thanks for the link! Fun to see someone else plead for its inevitability. I guess that’s something small business starters have to get realistic about; that just because a given idea is inevitable doesn’t mean the personal and market circumstances are always correct. In this particular circumstance, however, I have trouble seeming how the time isn’t right.

I feel bad for the couple submitting the pitch, since they were obviously nervous and had put a fair bit of themselves into it, but I don’t think they sold it strongly enough. That’s the thing that makes it hard, though. Is it always the case that a person who’s willing to work hard with a great idea is a good salesperson too? I suppose sales skills are universally applied and any potential business would stand to benefit, but it’s a shame when what seem like good non-salesy folk have a tough time pursuing their goals.

Personally, I think they should have focused on the fact that despite a digital age, people still use wall calendars, and how to bridge the gap between that need and existing (and as the Dragon put it, free) technologies that people also use. The syncing should have been sold at the outset, which applies more broadly than just busy family situations. While busy families are a good case, to get into an argument over whether or not kids will fill in their stuff in the touch screen was not keeping the discussion where it should be. Not having the software was a bit of a bummer, but given their circumstances, it’s hardly surprising.

The other situation where this would be extremely useful is with older people who just need a clear display of the current date and day. Nothing complicated - but I can’t find anything except large ones for banks etc.
